New Support Service for the Deaf Community: RJ Community CIC

People who are Deaf, Deafblind or hard of hearing across Northamptonshire can now access dedicated information and advice through RJ Community CIC, the new service commissioned to support the local Deaf community.

Following changes to previous provision, RJ Community CIC is now the main point of contact for individuals seeking guidance, support and connection. The service officially took over from 1 April and is focused on ensuring that people continue to receive accessible, inclusive and meaningful support.

What RJ Community CIC Provides

RJ Community CIC offers a range of information and advice services designed to help people remain independent, informed and connected to their communities. This includes:

  • Information and guidance on services, support and local resources
  • Advice to help individuals navigate health, social care and community services
  • Support to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing
  • Opportunities to engage with community activities and events

The service primarily delivers support through remote access (online, phone and messaging), alongside planned opportunities for face-to-face contact through appointments and community sessions.

This approach is designed to make support more flexible and accessible, ensuring that people can get the help they need in a way that works best for them.
