About the Role

As a Volunteer Researcher, you will work alongside Healthwatch staff and volunteers to support research activities across North Northamptonshire. You will help us understand people’s experiences of services including hospitals, GP surgeries, mental health services, dental practices, adult social care, and many others.

If you enjoy listening to people, exploring issues, and helping create positive change, this could be the perfect volunteering opportunity for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the role, you may:

  • Support the planning and delivery of research activities
  • Assist with surveys, focus groups, and other research methods
  • Help record and analyse information and feedback
  • Support the production of research reports
  • Engage with people using online platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Work alongside staff and other volunteers to gather community insight

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for volunteers who:

  • Have good listening and communication skills
  • Enjoy working with people and asking questions
  • Can work well as part of a team
  • Have basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word
  • Have access to the internet and email
  • Are comfortable volunteering from home and using online meeting platforms
  • Respect confidentiality and handle information sensitively

No previous research experience is required, and training can be provided where needed.

This role may involve engagement across Wellingborough, Corby, Kettering, and other health and social care settings across North Northamptonshire.
