About the Role
As a Community Listener Volunteer, you will work alongside Healthwatch North Northamptonshire staff and volunteers to help local people access information about health and social care services. You will play an important role in listening to people's experiences, helping them find the right information, and ensuring their voices are heard.

What You'll Be Doing
As part of the role, you may:
* Provide trusted health and social care information to members of the public
* Help people find the services, support, and information they need
* Signpost individuals to appropriate organisations and services
* Search for relevant information and confirm its suitability with Healthwatch staff before sharing
* Record feedback and experiences shared by members of the community
* Support Healthwatch outreach activities within local communities
* Help ensure the voices of local people contribute to improving health and social care services
What We're Looking For
We are looking for volunteers who:
* Have good listening and communication skills
* Enjoy speaking with people from a wide range of backgrounds
* Are confident working independently and using their own initiative
* Are willing to ask for support when needed
* Have access to the internet and email (although this is not essential)
* Are reliable, approachable, and respectful of confidentiality
* Are passionate about helping people access the information and support they need
No previous experience is required, and full training will be provided.

Time Commitment
Our volunteering roles are flexible and designed to fit around your existing commitments. We will work with you to find a volunteering schedule that suits you.
Location
This role may involve volunteering in community centres, libraries, and other outreach locations across Wellingborough, Corby, Kettering, and other areas of North Northamptonshire.
